Voices for Children: Advocacy in Action

June 10, 2025

June 19 is Juneteenth. As we advocate for the most vulnerable children in our community, we are reminded that the fight for justice, equity, and dignity is ongoing. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the progress we’ve made and the work still to be done, especially in the lives of the children we serve.

Donation Highlights:

We are so thankful to 100 Men Who Care Emerald Coast & those who donated to the Carol Clark Memorial Fund. Between those donations alone, we received over $34,000! 99% of the funds will go directly to our local foster care children through our programs, such as Children in Need (CIN), highlighted below! CIN Highlight:

For one 6-year-old-boy, summer camp felt out of reach—swimming, field trips, and just simply being a kid. Thanks to our generous donors he will now be spending his summer at the Emerald Coast Boys and Girls Club, creating new memories, friendships, and joy that every child deserves. Here’s to our donors and a summer full of memories!

Escambia Volunteers, this one is for you! If you are a new volunteer or have not been sworn in by one of our Dependency Judges, join us on Friday, June 27th @ 1:30pm at the Juvenile Justice Courthouse. Contact your CAM for additional information.

  • There are currently 1,250 children under court supervision in Circuit One

  • 97% of those children are represented by the GAL Office

  • Representation by County:

    • Escambia: 712 children; 165 volunteers

    • Santa Rosa: 195 children; 101 volunteers

    • Okaloosa: 197 children; 119 volunteers

    • Walton: 114 children; 30 volunteers
