Voices for Children: Advocacy in Action

May 2026

May is National Foster Care Month! A time to recognize and honor the dedication of foster families who advocate and support the most vulnerable youth in our community.

Event Highlight:

Volunteer Appreciation Celebration!

For two days, April 16th & 17th, we celebrated our wonderful volunteers and the difference they make every day for our local children in need. The agenda included dinner, volunteer awards, and a special Champions Presentaion. The celebration was a two-day event, one for our Santa Rosa & Escambia county volunteers and the second for our Okaloosa & Walton volunteers. What a special celebration and great recognition for all of our faithful and hard working volunteers. Congratulations and thank you again for all you do!!

CIN Highlight: Sharing Time

Sometimes being a foster kid involves long days in court. Four teenage boys spent one of those days with their case manager. Afterwards, she wanted to share time with them AND feed them. What better way to connect with teen boys than over delicious pizza!? With the support of our foundation, she was able to treat them to pizza and some time to just be teenagers. By the way, gelato and game tokens for the arcade were provided! Our foundation understands that “sharing time” is just as vital as providing a meal. Giving them the space to just be kids for a few hours is a powerful way to help them process their day and build trust with their case manager.
