Governance

Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect through the work of the Guardian ad Litem Program.

Established in 2012 and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt charitable organization on June 19, 2012, the Foundation's mission is to provide resources, opportunities, and support that enhance the well-being of children involved in the dependency court system. Serving Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties in Northwest Florida, the Foundation was created to help bridge the gap between state-funded services and the individual needs of children in foster care.

Through the generosity of donors, community partners, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and volunteers, the Foundation helps provide emergency needs, educational support, extracurricular activities, summer camp experiences, holiday gifts, and volunteer advocacy resources. By investing in the lives of vulnerable children, Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, Inc. works to ensure that every child served by the Guardian ad Litem Program has access to opportunities that promote stability, hope, and a brighter future.

Our Impact
As of April 2026, 1,119 children were in foster care throughout our four-county service area, including 685 in Escambia County, 184 in Okaloosa County, 175 in Santa Rosa County, and 80 in Walton County.

In 2025 alone, the Foundation assisted 389 children through the Children in Need Fund, providing critical support for essential items, services, and experiences when no other funding source was available. We also distributed 356 Cases for Kids duffel bags, ensuring children entering foster care received age-appropriate essentials with dignity rather than carrying their belongings in trash bags. Through Hope for the Holidays, 730 children received holiday gifts from community partners, while more than 140 children participated in overnight and day camp experiences through Camp for Kids, helping them build confidence, create lasting memories, and experience the joy of simply being a child. The Foundation also supported 396 Guardian ad Litem volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children throughout the court process.

With 98% of all funds going directly back into programs and services, every dollar raised stays local and helps provide the stability, dignity, normalcy, and hope that children in foster care deserve.
